Universal Studio - Back To The Future

April 13, 2000

You'll whiz, weave, careen, drop and zip through space and beyond.

Zoom into the future and see Hill Valley in the year 2015 . . .
rocket to the ice age and dodge an avalanche of ice . . .
then blast back to the dawn of time and go face to face with a hungry T-Rex.
Don't be surprised if you get trapped in a volcano . . . or worse!

So power up the flux capacitor, accelerate to 88 m.p.h.
and prepare for a 21 million jigowatt adventure!

Doc Brown (and the future) are counting on YOU!

  • Back To The Future The Ride® took two years of toil for the Universal Studios cinema effects specialists to craft the Omnimax surround-screen film.

  • Eric Stoltz was originally cast as the role of Marty McFly. He was quickly replaced with Michael J. Fox, who was more teen-like.

  • Final bill for the state-of-the-art ride? A cool $16 million, or about the cost of a feature film.

  • Huey Lewis (who sang the Oscar-nominated theme song) made a cameo in the film as the high-school band judge.

  • Back to the Future won a single Academy Award. Can you name it? Sound Effects Editing.

  • Back To The Future The Ride is a virtual tour. It uses 20 laser disc players, 50 miles of electrical wire, 300 speakers and 60 video monitors. Not one, not two, but 20 computers are required to operate the amazing effects found in this ride.
