Universal Studio - T2 Terminator 3D

April 13, 2000

Frame for frame, the 3-D film used in
TERMINATOR 2: 3-D BATTLE ACROSS TIMETM
is the most expensive live action film ever produced.

The attraction's 3-D film is projected onto three 23-foot high by 50-foot wide screens.
To perfect the interlocking of 3-D images on multiple screens, the creators enlisted the aid
of NASA's Dr. Ken Jones, a specialist from Pasadena, California's Jet Propulsion Laboratories.

This attraction marks the first time ever a combination of 3-D cinematography, digital composite
computer graphics and explosive live stunt work have been combined in one entertainment experience.

The state-of-the-art sound system pumps a total of 45,620 watts through 159 speakers
(louder than most teenagers' portable stereos).

More than 100 miles of cable is woven throughout the attraction to activate the various audio,
video, computer network and show support systems.

The Terminator is not the show's only fearless character. "Sarah Connor's" thrilling entrance is a 35-foot rope drop.

There are 2 shotgun blasts and 14 9mm rounds of ammunition fired in each show.
All weapons and ammunition are specifically modified for safety purposes.

Each of the attraction's six "cinebotic" T-70 cyborg soldiers stand eight feet tall and are more than four feet wide.
